There once was a mighty elephant
Who broke out of the zoo
He trampled in to people's gardens
And through their kitchens too
He helped himself to beans on toast
Ice cream and jelly, Sunday roasts
He poked his trunk in to the halls
But everywhere seemed much too small
He wandered through the hospital
He trudged all through the school
He stomped though every street and park
He even tried the pool
But any time people got near
They shouted "no you can't stay here"
Time again the people said
"Please go somewhere else instead!"
The elephant was quite ashamed
"Oh dear I feel so bad,
I simply wanted lots of friends,
But now I've made them mad"
So down he sat outside a house
And tried to be quite small
He tried to not to squash anything
And not be there at all
But out scampered a lady
"Oh dear, you must come in for tea,
You look like you are quite alone
Don't stay out here all on your own"
And so the elephant did squeeze
Down the path and in the doorway
The lady popped the kettle on
And then she turned to say...
"I'm Julie, this is my son Dan
Please take a seat dear if you can
I see you've had an awful time
But here with us you'll be just fine"
The elephant was so happy
He even shed a tear
"Oh my, you've been so kind" he said
"Do you think I could stay here?"
Julie and Dan had a chat
"do you think that we have the space for that?"
"Well we could have a rearrange"
"A new house mate would make a change"
They made a lot of room upstairs
Dan reinforced all of the chairs
And though the neighbours had a shock
They even brought a huge hammock
Soon enough the plan was made
The elephant was there to stay
And so it pleases me to say
He's still there to this very day.

I have to tell you,
I really love cats!
BIG cats,
Small cats,
Cats, cats CATS!
Little fluffy balls of FUN.
Two little eyes,
Or sometimes one,
There's nothing more that pleases me!
Four little paws,
Or sometimes three!
I like the way they'll chase out rats ,
Mice and birds and other cats,
Their territory's theirs' ALONE
They like to rule ALL ON THEIR OWN!
Tigers, cheetahs, Scottish folds,
Persians, tabbys, young or old,
Big ol whiskers on pink noses!
Little beanies on their toesies!
Big fat cats with silky fur,
Stripy cats that mew and Purr,
Orange, brown or black and white
Tall cats, short cats, any height!
I love they way they climb up high -
And no one EVER questions WHY!?
I love that they have lives of nine,
I WISH EVERY SINGLE CAT WAS MINE!!
Their little noises, hisses, chirps...
The way their sense of balance works.
I even like it when they FART!
The tiny 'poofd' just melts my heart!
Cats in boxes or up trees,
They fits, they sits, that pleases me! Indoor cats and outdoors too,
If you don't like cats I think you're POO!!!
